Long-time Columbia residents are sure to know about the Merriweather Symphony of Lights. This annual tradition brings a particular holiday cheer to Howard County, with proceeds benefiting the yearly event as well as the Howard County General Hospital and the Downtown Columbia Arts and Culture Commission.
For those who may not be familiar with the event, there’s plenty to see and enjoy through January 2. The mile-long course welcomes carloads of visitors to enjoy. Open daily, including holidays, guests at the Merriweather Symphony of Lights can enjoy holiday music and information through 105.5 FM and special events, like Walk-Through Nights, Tail Lights, and Midnight at 6, 7, or 9.
As you follow the course of the Symphony of Lights, be sure to keep an eye out for the event’s secret phrase, single pink light bulb, or completed holiday word search for the chance to win exciting prizes—and support local businesses and organizations in the process.
The Merriweather Post Pavilion has never looked as brilliant as it does during the Symphony of Lights. Whether you drive through the course on a normal evening or walk through during a special event, you’ll be supporting important local causes and putting yourself and your family or friends in the holiday spirit.
